Blues punctuate Capitals
The trade deadline deal that brought Brad Boyes to the St. Louis Blues last February is looking better every day.
Boyes scored a pair of goals Saturday in a 4-3 win over the Washington Capitals and now has eight goals in just nine games.
The Blues (6-3) picked up the former Boston and San Jose winger in exchange for defenseman Dennis Wideman. Boyes has scored two goals in two of his last three games and is tied for third in the NHL with eight on the season.
With seven goals in his last seven games, few NHL forwards are as hot as the 25-year-old winger and former first-round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs. In 18 games since joining the Blues, Boyes has 12 goals and 22 points. Read more
