Legace Stops 31 Shots As Blues Top Wings
Manny Legace made 31 saves for his 20th career shutout to lift the St. Louis Blues to a 2-0 win over the NHL-leading Detroit Red Wings on Monday night. It was the first time Detroit, winners of 14 of its last 16 games, was held scoreless this season.
Erik Johnson and Lee Stempniak scored for the Blues, who snapped a four-game losing streak.
Legace, who played with the Red Wings from 1999-2000 until 2005-06, stopped Jiri Hudler on a breakaway with 8:05 left.
