The second round of the NHL playoffs might be over in a blink.
Three teams were put on the brink of elimination Tuesday, as the Pittsburgh Penguins, Dallas Stars and Detroit Red Wings all won to take 3-0 leads in their respective series. The Penguins remained perfect in the post-season, improving to 7-0 with a 5-3 win over the Rangers in New York. Evgeni Malkin led the way with a pair of goals on the same night he was named a finalist for the Hart Trophy.
“I’m definitely proud of him,” said captain Sidney Crosby, last year’s Hart winner. “As a teammate, you always want to see other guys do well. He did that all season. It was a great accomplishment.” Read more
